Meet Jason

Jason Brodeur worked for Procter & Gamble for nearly 12 years before starting his own local health care consulting business headquartered in Sanford, Florida.  His experience as a local business owner and community leader inspired him to run for State Representative in Florida House District 28, and his positive track record earned the support of voters for his reelection every year since. Now Jason Brodeur has announced his campaign for the Florida Senate, where he’ll continue to fight for the important issues facing Central Florida residents.

The son of Tim and Rene Brodeur of Winter Springs, Jason grew up in our community — graduating from Jackson Heights Middle School and Oviedo High School. While in high school he was a member of the volleyball team and the wrestling team, where he learned leadership and hard work. He continued his education at the University of Florida on a Florida Academic Scholarship.

As a college student, Jason participated in a number of different student organizations including the Student Senate, The College of Agriculture Honor Court and the Interfraternity Council. Jason graduated from University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Food and Resource Economics, and also earned his MBA from the University of Florida. Jason is proud member of Florida Blue Key, the University of Florida leadership honorary.

Jason continued to be involved in his community by serving on the City of Sanford Charter Review Board and the Seminole County Planning and Zoning Commission. In both roles Jason took an active part of helping shape our local community, and prepared him for his tenure on the Governor-appointed Medicaid Pharmaceutical and Therapeutics Committee.

Before his election to the House, Jason was no stranger to political campaigns. He’s taken part in a number of conservative causes from the grassroots to federal level, working to ensure communication between voters and the public officials who represent them.

Jason has also been active in a number of community organizations and is currently President/CEO of the Seminole County Regional Chamber of Commerce. Other community organization involvement include his membership on the Board of Directors for Community Based Care of Seminole County, as a volunteer for the Seminole County Div-i-dend public school program, as a Sanford Rotarian and as a American Cancer Society volunteer.

Throughout his time in the Florida House, Jason was tasked with leading several crucial committees, such as the Government Operations Subcommittee, the Health and Human Services Committee and the Health Care Appropriations Subcommittee.

Jason was elected to the Florida Senate in 2020. He has since been an extraordinarily effective lawmaker, sending over 20 bills to Governor’s DeSantis’s desk. This legislation includes expansions to the Right To Farm Act, more protections for foster children, the establishment of a statewide Office of Resilience to combat sea-level rise, additional homestead tax exemptions for teachers and First Responders, increasing access to mental health resources, and much more. In 2021 voted Jason Brodeur voted to ban vaccine mandates in Florida.

Jason has been recognized for his legislative achievements by many of the state’s leading advocacy groups. Recent awards and accolades include:

  • A+ From Foundation for Florida’s Future 2022
  • Clean Energy Champion, CCE 2021
  • A+ Champion For Freedom, Americans For Prosperity, 2021
  • Florida Home Builders Association, Champion of Housing, 2021

Jason and his wife, Christy live in Sanford with their dog, Oliver. They attend St. Andrews Chapel.

For eight years, Jason Brodeur has championed the needs of our community in the Florida House, and now he’s ready to do the same in the Senate. As someone who grew up in the District, he knows what kind of purpose, values and principles our community needs to continue to make it a place we all want to live, work and play. Please support Jason and get involved today!
